Anderson County Commission Meeting

Anderson County Commission Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month starting with public hearings and/or presentations at 6:00 p.m. followed by the regular agenda at 6:30 p.m. In January and February, due to the holiday schedule, the meetings are on Tuesday with the same start time as Monday meetings.  Find meeting agendas and more information here.

Any person desiring to provide public comment at the county commission meeting may indicate his or her desire to speak during the Appearance of Citizens of the meeting as described below.

The Appearance of Citizens is a period in the meeting when Anderson County residents can speak to the County Commission about items or concerns on the agenda and not on the agenda.  Citizens are to state their name and address and will limit remarks to three minutes or less.  Under Tennessee Code Annotated 8-44-112 and Rules IV and V of the Anderson County Board of County Commissioners Rules of Procedure, the County Commission may limit the number of speakers and require groups to select a spokesperson to represent their shared views. The County Commission will take all practicable steps to ensure all opposing viewpoints are fairly represented. Comments by citizens must be professional and respectful and must refrain from outbursts, profanity, questioning motives, and personal attacks. Signs, posters, and placards may be carried outside the Commission meeting room, but shall not be allowed within.
