SUMMARY:Weekly Defending Our Communities Oak Ridge Protest
DESCRIPTION:Join Southern Resistance Coalition and Indivisible Southern Action Network for a peaceful protest every Saturday from 12-2 pm in front of the Oak Ridge Library. \n\nBring a non-perishable food donation for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity\nBring a friend! The more the merrier.\nBring a sign\, or borrow one of our extras.\nYou’re welcome to bring a chair.\nStay the whole time or stop and show support as long as you’re able.\nPlease stay out of the street at all times & only cross at crosswalks.\n\nWe believe the power of the people is stronger than the people in power\, and that we are stronger together. \nOne way we build our strength is with our weekly Defending Democracy protests. Beyond just exercising our First Amendment rights every week we also use that time to share info\, make connections\, learn and educate others\, collect and distribute food and local resources\, and show solidarity with groups who don’t feel safe coming out to protest. \nBy focusing on keeping our neighbors safe\, fed\, connected\, and informed\, we can build the foundation of care and resilience vital for sustained resistance and thriving as a community. We take care of each other\, we stand together. \nHope to see you Saturday!

DESCRIPTION:Do you love the Smokies and our National Parks? Do you oppose the budget cuts that have drastically reduced staffing and shut down areas of the Parks? Do you oppose the attempts to sell off our public lands\, cut timber\, or remove natural resources from them? Are you against loosening or removing environmental protections that keep our parks healthy? Then join us for a rally! WHAT: Protect Our Parks Rally WHEN: Saturday\, April 18\, 2026 Noon to 2pm WHERE: Sugarlands Visitor Center\, 1420 Fighting Gap Creek Road\, Gatlinburg\, TN 37738 WHO: Protect Our Parks in cooperation with Indivisible Sevier County WHY: To raise awareness of the many attacks on our National Park system. A parking pass is required to park at Sugarlands Visitor Center. Arriving early and carpooling are highly recommended.
