To view a past commission monthly meetings go to https://www.andersoncounty.tv/.  \nAny person desiring to provide public comment at the county commission meeting may indicate his or her desire to speak during the Appearance of Citizens of the meeting as described below. \nThe Appearance of Citizens is a period in the meeting when Anderson County residents can speak to the County Commission about items or concerns on the agenda and not on the agenda.  Citizens are to state their name and address and will limit remarks to three minutes or less.  Under Tennessee Code Annotated 8-44-112 and Rules IV and V of the Anderson County Board of County Commissioners Rules of Procedure\, the County Commission may limit the number of speakers and require groups to select a spokesperson to represent their shared views. The County Commission will take all practicable steps to ensure all opposing viewpoints are fairly represented. Comments by citizens must be professional and respectful and must refrain from outbursts\, profanity\, questioning motives\, and personal attacks. Signs\, posters\, and placards may be carried outside the Commission meeting room\, but shall not be allowed within.

The more the merrier.\nBring a sign\, or borrow one of our extras.\nYou’re welcome to bring a chair.\nStay the whole time or stop and show support as long as you’re able.\nPlease stay out of the street at all times & only cross at crosswalks.\n\nWe believe the power of the people is stronger than the people in power\, and that we are stronger together. \nOne way we build our strength is with our weekly Defending Democracy protests. Beyond just exercising our First Amendment rights every week we also use that time to share info\, make connections\, learn and educate others\, collect and distribute food and local resources\, and show solidarity with groups who don’t feel safe coming out to protest. \nBy focusing on keeping our neighbors safe\, fed\, connected\, and informed\, we can build the foundation of care and resilience vital for sustained resistance and thriving as a community. SUMMARY:Weekly Defending Our Communities Lenoir City Protest
DESCRIPTION:Tennesseans deserve real safety\, not government overreach. \nJoin us as we exercise our First Amendment rights in defense of our neighbors\, our rights\, and our democracy. Stand up for what’s right\, replenish your hope\, and build your community. \nWe’ll gather on the sidewalk in front of the Lenoir City Library Building every Saturday from 3-5 pm. \n\nBring a friend!\nPublic parking is available behind the library.\nBring a sign or borrow one of our extras.\n\nOrganized by Southern Resistance Coalition\, a grassroots\, non-partisan collective of citizens from Oak Ridge\, Tennessee\, and surrounding areas\, along with Indivisible Southern Action Network. \n\nAyuda a defender a nuestras comunidades. \nLos habitantes de Tennessee merecen una seguridad real\, no un exceso de gobierno. \nÚnase a nosotros mientras ejercemos nuestros derechos de la Primera Enmienda en defensa de nuestros vecinos\, nuestros derechos y nuestra democracia.
